Because of sickness, we were sad to miss time with the Somervilles, Henzies and Whites at Disneyland. Thankfully, we were still able to spend quality time with them. The Whites spent the day with Chris and Abigail at Downtown Disney while Isaac and Mommy stayed in the hotel reading books and playing a Thomas the Train board game. After having dinner at Cheesecake Factory, Emily and Eric brought Isaac back a Toy Story Lego set with Jessie and a sheriff station. We were still able to have sweet time with baby Hannah, who has the most amazing eyes!
We also spent a day in Laguna Beach with the Somervilles. The weather was fantastic! The kids played and played and played in the sand. Tiff treated Chris to a delicious Starbucks Americano. We went for walks and just talked as we enjoyed each other with the sounds of the crashing waves. The night was topped off with the view of the sun setting over the ocean. We all said "Goodbye" as it disappeared behind Catalina Island. Just when we thought the night could not get any better, Dan brought out his fish tacos. They were made with fish that one of his students caught, cooked on the BBQ perfectly and topped with all the yummy goodness you can imagine. They were enjoyed over candlelight outside overlooking the ocean. Amazing!
The Henzies joined us on Sunday night at a BBQ hosted at the Gonyea's. Jason built their home, which Chris loved to see for the first time. He also added a great outside area that made a perfect place to dine. The kids played like they are together all the time (even though Abigail was really sick) and Isaac thought Harley, the dog, was pretty cool. The night was relaxing and the food was delicious! I am so thankful that Linds and Kim and I have been friends for almost 20 YEARS! Man, we are getting old...but still cute and fun. :)
