ARG!!!! Ah-Hoy Matie!

Isaac was such a cute pirate. Aunt Christina found him such a great costume that he LOVED! He actually went door-to-door this year and got candy...which we passed back out to other kids who came to our door. Because he is allergic to everything, we bought him a lolly-pop from Wholefoods...he loved it.

Baby Love Bug

Our little "Love Bug" was such a cutie. She didn't like her hat very much so she wore a cute bow most of the day.

Time with Grammy Bernie

Isaac had such a fun time with Grammy Bernie today. They were snuggling together laughing on the bed as Isaac tired to convince her to take a nap with him and suck her thumb...she didn't fall for it...She also brought him some fun gifts to enjoy. He loved coloring the stickers she gave him and they laughed as they each put a sticker over their mouths and gave one another "sticker kisses."

Jump, Jump, Jump

Isaac and Daddy had fun this morning jumping off the couch. It is amazing the difference of time spent with Mommy vs. time spent with Daddy. :)

Crazy Nap Hair

Isaac woke up from nap with crazy hair so I snapped a few pictures...

You go Grandma!

I just wanted to give Grandma some props today for taking care of both kids and giving me an entire morning to myself. I went to the ladies' Bible study at out church this morning and stayed for a luncheon. It was so great. Isaac was totally looking forward to it, and Grandma did a great job! The kids were happy and fed when I returned home. I haven't changed one diaper yet today... :)

New Covenant in Jesus

I remember thinking that the animal sacrifices saved the Jews who practiced the law of God. I remember hearing that it was Jesus' blood that paid for sins past and future. I remember being confused. I remember thinking, "Why did God get so specific with all those Levitical laws and very specific rules anyway...if they can't save you?" It has been a long time since then and I was reminded of the truth today as I dug in to Hebrews 8-10 today.

Here are some of the verses I really liked today:
Heb 9:22 "without shedding of blood there is no remission"
Heb 10:4 "For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins"
Heb 10:1 "the law, having a shadow of the good things to come..."
Heb 9:13-15 "For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance."

So what does this mean to me, personally? I am one who often takes for granted the price Jesus paid for me on the cross. I get so used to the fact that He has paid for my sins with His blood that I sometimes wish I knew what it was like to have to regularly go to the tabernacle and offer up goats and bulls for all the rotten things I do and think. I really believe it would help me to hate my sin like God does. Seeing the blood would help me to see how ugly my sin really is. It would make me appreciate that Jesus was the sacrifice that paid for all my sin, once for all.

The law was established to obey...but God, knew that it was impossible for fallen man to obey 100%. Fall all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. All of us deserve judgement and condemnation. Not one of us is perfect and holy. God used the law to show us the standard that we cannot achieve. It exposes our sinfulness and points us in the direction of our need for forgiveness...found only through the narrow gate...Christ Jesus.

I praise Him that, by no merit or works of my own, He called me out of darkness into His marvelous light. All that reminds me of the great joy it is to serve Him. It is my joy...after all He has done for me.

Cousin Emily

Isaac met his cousins Emily and Ian yesterday. He was a little stinker the entire day because he was both sick and tired, but Emily was still so sweet and wanted to play with him.

The Boys' Big Mess

We had such a great night with our friends the Opfermans. We really enjoy our time talking and playing games and our boys LOVE playing together. Their personalities really mesh. They got along and played without supervision the entire night. They made a BIG mess but had fun, shared and didn't have any potty accidents. Great job boys!!!

AL then and now

I just wanted to post some pics of AL from last fall...How much changes with little ones in one year.

A few more in AL

Did I mention that Matt's parents made us two really nice meals while we were there and we also went to really good BBQ? I think we gained 5 pounds while we were there.

Isaac also has a peanut "dust" allergy so no one can eat/serve peanuts on any flight he is on.

Random things I wanted to mention about our trip:
* The kids were awesome on the plane
*Our kids played with the Carver kids like they have been friends all their lives
*Isaac really wanted to be back in AL this morning when he woke up
*Isaac wants Elijah to come and play with his trains at his house
*Crystal taught Abigail to clap this week
*Matt's mom makes an awesome pork roast
*My bites are starting to go away...but I still itch
*Crystal got bit by a crazy spider that Chris was scare to get near...she is still alive
*Jadyn already has a cute southern accent
*Annalise is great to be around because she laughs at almost anything...which Isaac LOVES
*I loved coloring and playing "Go Fish" with the girls
*Abigail loved watching all the action with all the kids in the house...when she smiles the biggest, her bottom lip goes down to the left

Dinner with the Meiers

On Thursday of our trip down south, we drove 3 hours to see our friends Jessica and David in Georgia. It has been years since we've seen them and were blessed to spend the evening with them. It was well worth the 6 hour round trip to meet their kids and catch up. It's funny to think that we were pretty newly married when we last were together in So Cal. They have twins a few months older than Isaac and a new baby a few months younger than Abigail. It was neat to see them as parents and to see our little ones all together. Though we haven't been together, when we were together, it was like we were never apart. We love you David & Jessica! Thanks for the yummy tacos... we had a stinky car the entire drive home...

Alabama Highlights

We took about 300 pictures on our trip...not kidding! How nice is that to not have to pay for film for the camera now-a-days. This is just a taste...
