It actually got warm here (near 100). To beat the heat, we've been trying to stay wet. There are several spray parks very close to our home. We tired a new one on Daddy's day off. One thing we discovered is that the kids like sand more than water! The combo of the two becomes quite messy too...but fun...and worth it!?!?
Thursday, the hottest day of the week, we met friends at the coast. The beaches in the Pacific NW are known for being cold and windy all year. It is a rare treat to have it warm and windless. It was a perfect day with temps reaching 80. The kids played with Parker and Preston ALL DAY LONG!!! We were at the beach for almost 8 hours. For the most part, the mommies were able to sit and gab while the kids entertained themselves with sand, water, shovels, buckets, rocks and other children. We took time to bury the boys in the sand, have a teaching moment to remind the kids to be kind to all the other kids at the beach, reapply sunscreen, and rescue a Barbie and soccer ball that were heading out into the ocean. We ended the day with pizza and a sandy van ride home.
I praise our great God who is the giver of these wonderful children, warm sunshine, beautiful beaches, health, faithful friends, and a job for Daddy that provides us to have these moments. Not for one moment do I forget how gracious the Lord has been. I know that, at any time, things can change (I will praise Him then, too), but, for now I specifically thank Him for all these things.

We would have been there if we had been invited.
Super fun! It kind of reminds me of our time in Arnold. Remember that? How wonderful will that be to relive again. Dan can hardly wait!! We are going to ask for a unit facing east next year, so we can have dinner while watching the sunset. Love you.
