4th of July-2010

This is the first year in the NW where we missed going to the 4th of July Parade. Because the 4th fell on a Sunday this year, our church had Sunday service outside with a picnic following. Our family arrived 2 hours early to help set up the field for church, but the weather was nice and the kids loved being outside.

After church, we had the annual celebration at Gramma and Papa's. They splurged and spoiled us in so many ways. They got tons of fireworks, great food (Mom's pulled pork and Dad's "Please don't tell me how many calories are in this...chocolate, brownie marshmallow cake"), and tons of fun things to do and play on outside (from the bikes and toy Jeep, to the tire swing and slides). Christina was the life of the party when she pulled out the water balloons. Amber was popular when she ran to the store to buy some bug spray (look for the little picture of us hiding in the tent from the hungry mosquitoes). Isaac had a great time digging, digging and digging some more as the girls enjoyed a cute little tea party while waiting for it to get dark enough to start the fireworks.

I just had to note that during the show, Abigail got off Mommy's lap because she wanted to snuggle with Andy (which was nice for him, because his two cute kiddos are out of town visiting relatives).
